I recently came across an interesting quote about art from Henry Ward Beecher: "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." And he's so right! If you ever visit an art museum, which I hope to do more of in the future, you'll notice that each painting or photo is different; not just the subject itself, but its tone and mood. After all, most artists desire to tell a story through their work.
Ever since I could remember, I've loved everything about art, whether simply sketching on a notepad and painting on a canvas to photography. I just simply love being creative, even if its re-doing a bedroom or decorating for a wedding. My parents used to tell me how at the tender age of three, I'd always have a pencil in my hand, drawing away on paper. (Apparently I drew a very nice-looking refrigerator at three years old, don't ask me why haha!) I believe God has blessed me with an artist's eye. My favorite way to express myself through art is painting; I've always loved water color and recently became obsessed with oils. Unfortunately I haven't been able to paint much since having my daughter, even though spending my time with her is entirely worth it, but hopefully as she grows older I'll be able to devote more of my spare time to it. Even Lilly loves to draw! She's always saying, "Color? Color?" =) A dream of mine has always been to start an art business of some kind, selling my art or even taking professional photos, as I hope to become better each year! Anyway, just some random thoughts about art, hope you enjoyed!
