New beginnings

It's been some time since I've last blogged, which has been due to my family moving from NC to the beautiful state of Virginia. As most of you know, Rich is officially "out" of the Marine Corps, his 5-year contract ending this past August. I remember when he first told me he was joining the Marines, back when I was a freshman in college and only 18. It was a little scary pondering it all back then, but I knew it had been one of his dreams to serve his country, and our relationship was constantly growing despite the long distance with my going to college in Florida and his college in Wisconsin. But looking back, I can say that I truly love military life and will miss it. Even with Rich's deploying every year for at least 7 months at a time, those times have strengthened our love and marriage and have made us not take our time together for granted. Through it all, we've made friends that have become family and memories that won't ever be forgotten.

Anyway, our new life in Virginia is going pretty well! Rich has already gotten a new job as a security guard for an insurance agency, and I've been continuing to stay at home with our little girl Lilly. She is definitely the light of our lives, always putting a smile on our face. Another one of my husband's goals is to become a pilot, always has been. He will be learning how to fly starting in the spring; I'm so excited for him! =)
