We are definitely getting spoiled lately with perfect fall weather. It's the kind of weather where you want to do everything outside, whether it's play with the kids, talk on the phone, exercise, or read. Today has been a beautiful day.
Right now it's quiet, both kids napping, windows open, the cool breeze coming in, crickets singing, sunlight pouring in. I love this time of day. Most of the time I use the kids' naptime as time to re-energize. Sometimes I go crazy cleaning my house or getting projects done (since cleaning is almost impossible to do with two kids), other times like today I am simply relaxing & enjoying the peace & quiet before it gets loud again.
I was thinking how much different it is with my little man compared to when I had Lilly. Rich was deployed when I gave birth to Lilly, so her first six months while he was overseas was so stressful. I was a new Mom and a stresser who felt like she had to do everything exactly by the book when it came to caring for a baby, like strict scheduling & that sort of thing. That made ENJOYING my newborn impossible. This time, it's so different, and thankfully so. I'm pretty much opposite of what I used to be.. I still stress over small things sometimes but not as much. This time, I'm enjoying every single minute with my little man before he gets too big. I am always holding him or letting him sit on my lap, he is such a snuggler & I LOVE that.
Today I let him try some of my banana for the first time. It was so cute. I figured since he's already four months old, that it would be okay. He loved it too. Poor little guy is already teething.. I can see tiny little slits in his gums where his teeth would be coming up so I know it has to be soon.
Anyway, I'm about to go make some chili & corn muffins for dinner. =) Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
