A Letter to my Girl

{..browsing through some documents, when I found this: written back in November..}

Dear my precious little girl Lilly,

It is a late Friday night, and I just checked on you once again.

I love watching you sleep.

You look so peaceful. As I take one last peek at you & walk away, I find myself praying for you again. You do not know how much I love you so and pray that God blesses your life greatly and protects you.

As a mom, we have all kinds of fears and worries and hopes for our children because we love them so dearly. My main prayer for you is that you grow to love the Lord with all your heart and find your confidence in Him alone. People, even the people you love, are human and are capable of failing you, but never Jesus. He loves you so very much and watches over you every second of every day.

You do not know how much I respect and admire you, even though you are only two years old. You have a confidence that your Daddy has, and even though you can be stubborn and so very independent sometimes, I know that when you become older, you can use those traits in a wonderful way to serve the Lord. Know that I will always love you and always be there for you, no matter what. I know it seems like I discipline you and scold you constantly lately, but it is only because I love you and don't want you to turn out like a spoiled, disobedient child. =)

As I close this first letter to you, I pray one last prayer tonight that God would keep you in His hands, always guiding and protecting you. I thank God for you daily and am so glad that you are my own daughter!
