August is here and I just realized that my sweet girl will be turning 3 in exactly 3 weeks from today! THREE! Holy cow! Time is flying by so fast! Honestly it has not hit me till this past week when I was thinking about it.. and even when Lilly had turned 2, it didn't affect me as much as it is this year.
Thinking of how big Lilly's getting literally made me cry as I watched her play in her room today. =( Ever since I had baby Richie, time seems to go by even faster with two kids. Sometimes I love that she is so independent and can get things on her own without my help but other days I wish she would just stay little. This year I want to make her birthday extra special now that she really knows what's going on and what birthdays are all about compared to the first two. It stinks that we live so far from family because we hardly know many kids her age down here and that means no one really to party with! Oh well..
I just love the little person Lilly is growing to be. She really does light up the room and she has such an admirable confidence about her. She's almost fearless and she is wicked smart. She has more of Rich's personality than mine, meaning she is very independent, adventurous, (stubborn), and passionate. I already can tell that baby Richie's personality is more like mine - soft, sensitive, reserved, and observant. I love that both my kids are mine yet are so different and unique. It's amazing having kids.
Well a little update on our Saturday. It is always nice when Rich has the day off! I love it, this is the second weekend he has had off. For a while he was working literally every day, just like during deployment.. it is draining for everyone. The kids slept in till 8 considering Lilly didn't even nap the day before, so it was nice for me and Rich to sleep till 8 too. I did my daily run then took the kids outside to get fresh (humid) air.. Now Rich is out doing a flying lesson and we are just waiting for him to return with Subway (yummy!) and to go shopping later! =)
