Things that keep Lilly busy
Sometimes being a mom to a little baby & an energetic toddler can be challenging & there are days where I mentally try to scramble up some fun things for Lilly to do while I am nursing the baby or when it's rainy out. Here are some things that I let her do to keep her occupied, at least she enjoys all of them!
~
Filling up the sink with bubbles & water. Lilly loves playing with water! I fill up the sink & dump a bunch of her plastic toys in there, a few bowls, a few spoons, and she will stand on a chair and play there for a while!
~ Cutting grass or bushes with scissors. HAHA! I know, sounds funny, but give your kid a pair of safety scissors and let them go cut grass! Lilly did it the other day for a really long time and had fun with it! Or let them do it with paper, for some reason, she likes scissors and as long as your kid knows how to handle them and it is a pair of safety scissors, it's not that dangerous.

Puzzles! Lilly is at the age where she LOVES puzzles. My mom bought her a huge horse puzzle when she was down here visiting, and ever since then, Lilly & I put it together at least three times a day. It's pretty big, and even though the pieces are big, Lilly is getting so good at it to the point where she hardly needs my help anymore. Puzzles are so good mentally for toddlers.

Dusting/Cleaning the floor. Whenever I'm cleaning the house, Lilly loves to help. It's not at all hard to ask her for help because she is always wanting to be involved with whatever Mommy's doing, whether it's laundry (obviously she doesnt know how to fold clothes that well but its the thought that counts!), dusting, or doing dishes. Just this morning I gave Lilly some baby wipes and she went to town polishing all my furniture haha!
~ Sorting colors. We have a Monopoly game and since we never play it, I let Lilly take it out, and she loves sorting all the "money colors" till they are all in their separate color pile. =) Same thing with her colored magnet letters.
Anyway, that's just a small list of some of the things we do when we are bored. =) Keeps her busy and keeps her out of trouble!
Things here have been going really well. Little man's getting so big every day and I just can't wait till he's a little older because it will be the cutest thing watching him & Lilly play together! I can tell they will already have a great bond & friendship. She is so protective of him & loves him so much and his eyes always light up when she talks to him. Cutest thing ever.
Running is going great; I'm up to running at least 2 miles every day without hardly stopping (unless the kids need something) and I'm beginning to feel back to where I was physically before I had the baby. It feels great being able to run again and sprint and work out; mentally I need it every day to energize me, makes me feel more productive with my day and makes me in a better mood all around. =)
Well hope you have a great day, whoever does read these!
