Life has felt so busy lately; even though I don't do much but stay home & take care of our kiddos (there is never a dull moment as a stay at home mom!), I must admit that I haven't been wanting to blog much at all. Usually when I get a few minutes to myself, it's either cleaning or catching up on facebook or exercising. So I apologize for not posting much within the past couple months! I will do my best to keep fresh with updates on our life! A bit of my "slacking" has to do with the fact that 2 weeks ago, most of Virginia and the east coast lost power due to sever thunder storms! We didn't have power in our home for a solid week! Definitely makes you think how you will never take electricity or Air conditioning for granted AGAIN! I honestly thought that I could deal with the heat if it were just my husband and me, but throw a toddler & an infant in the mix and it can be dangerous with the temperatures reaching the low hundreds!! Not cool.
Little Richie is almost 2 months old; time flies! And the funny thing is, Lilly just seems like such a BIG girl lately. Before I had Richie, she was my baby.. even though she is almost 3, I saw her as still little and my "baby." Well now that little man is here, he is the "baby" and Lilly seems like she's grown tremendously since then. Did any of that make sense to you? haha. Sorry, getting late so I might not be making much sense!
As you can tell from the picture above, Richie has grown and filled out and just looks so much older, doesn't he! He is such a good baby and is definitely so much more aware of what's going on. He smiles back at us now and tries to "coo" and respond in his own way! It is the cutest thing!! =) He has started sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night too, which makes mommy VERY happy!
Lilly is such a patient big sister too. I feel bad because we are inside most of the day with me breastfeeding the baby, and before he came along, Lilly & I would always be out and about shopping or going to the park, or just being outside.... oh well, this stage is only temporary and soon little Richie will be old enough where he won't need to nurse as frequently and we could go out more again!
Breast feeding, I must admit, is a challenge for me.. I love being busy and going out places, but this has made me a slave to our home. I figure again this is only temporary and it is all worth it for little man. =) Also, we just figured out that whenever I have dairy, even foods with hidden dairy in it like cereal bars, he gets extremely fussy! I guess this is just making me eat very healthy, haha! A lot of whole grains and whole foods for this momma!! And speaking of, my husband JUST came home as I am writing this post with brownie mix.... WELL I have a huge sweet tooth lately and can't do anything about it... Maybe I will cheat and eat some, but trust me, when little man is fussy, he is REALLY fussy and it is NOT fun!! My husband literally told me he looked around the whole grocery store for things I could eat and said that most of everything has dairy in it, haha! Oh well, I don't mind honestly eating a ton of rice, chicken, and oatmeal.
Anyway, enough of this post for now. My bed is calling. =) Good night!!!!
